THERAPY FOR CHILDREN

Occupational therapy can enable children to develop the necessary skills for learning and performing functional tasks in the areas of self-care, school and play. This entails assessing a child, analysing what may be limiting their function and developing an individualised intervention plan to address the child’s specific needs.

Common reasons to refer a child to an Occupational therapist:

  • School readiness skills (e.g. attention, social skills, scissor skills, pencil grasp)

  • Handwriting

  • Fine motor skills

  • Gross motor skills

  • Visual perceptual skills

  • Self-care skills (e.g. dressing, feeding, grooming, toileting)

  • Learning difficulties

  • Sensory processing

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

NDIS SERVICES

Sprout Occupational Therapy offers services to NDIS participants, with a particular focus on:

  • Person centred and comprehensive NDIS Functional Capacity Assessments. A Functional Capacity Assessment can assist with ensuring NDIS participants have the required level of support and funding to achieve their goals and needs.

  • Independent Living Skills. Sprout endeavours to help clients live a healthy and purposeful life, whatever their specific goals may be. Areas of intervention may include; personal care, meal preparation, community access, recreational activities and household management tasks.

NDIS ACCESS SUPPORT

Navigating the NDIS application process can be challenging and overwhelming at times. Sprout can support applicants through the process by completing an NDIS access assessment and report,  identifying the client's needs and detailing the appropriate recommendations to meet those needs.
